Java IDE: annoying Eclipse and NetBeans: any possible fixes or alternatives?

I like the Eclipse IDE, but it has an annoying error that makes it too frustrating, where I will type a line of text, and after returning or scrolling the carriage, the IDE draws a line incorrectly or overlaps itself, making it impossible for me to decrypt it without scrolling back to erase the line and let it refresh itself.

Both NetBeans and Eclipse have a problem when context help appears only after. is entered after the identifier during input. After entering any incorrect letters or entering a character or a space, the context help will disappear and will not return until I completely delete it back and retype it.

Is there a way to fix these problems? They really annoy me. If not, are there more affordable IDEs?

EDIT: The release of Eclipse was Europa; upgrade to Helios version solved everything

In eclipse check

WindowsPreferencesJavaEditorContent Assist

It has several Auto-Activation options that you can customize, and yes ... adding each character on the keyboard to the Auto activation triggers for Java will do pretty much what VS does.

Thank you for asking this question because it made me try this !: D

I think you should try IntelliJ IDEA 10.

There was never a problem with drawing a line.

In Eclipse, the autocomplete / context menu can always be returned at any time by pressing ctrl+space
