What is a good replacement for generating code and generating MyGeneration / d00dads?

I used MyGeneration and the d00dads architecture for several years and was a big proponent. The tool is quite simple and simple, and the code layer is simple. But recent experience with him has left me a little wary. Support for this software does not exist at all, any forums dedicated to this are virtual ghost towns. I am afraid to run into another question later on the road, which I cannot fix and is stuck.

I am looking for something that:

Explicitly supports MS SQL Server and C #.

Simple: no XML schemas! Rectangular tools. Simply convert SQL tables to easily accessible objects and collections

Supported: developer support is needed. An ideal community of users with ongoing bug fixes.

About a year or two ago, I would agree with the answer to this StackOverflow question . Damn, I might even have supported this answer. But I just can't justify it. This dead software and source code is quite complex, it is not that you can just dive and upgrade without prior experience.

I know this is not good to answer one question of my own, but ... after he delved into this question a bit, the answer became pretty obvious: Entity Spaces is a logical replacement for MyGeneration / dOOdads. Written by the same person, uses similar syntax and design patterns. Only con is not a free tool.

Microsoft Entity Framework ?

LINQ to SQL is probably a bit simpler, but it has been “officially” replaced by EF.

Have you looked at the CodeSmith Frame Generator ? I recommend a look at . NetTiers as it will be a good replacement for d00dads. Other developers have taken this route. Otherwise, we have PLINQO templates and soon there will be PLINQO for the Enity Framework .

I understand this is a very old post, but it still ranks pretty high in DuckDuckGo's results.

The creator of MyGeneration created https://www.My2ndGeneration.com . This is not syntax compatible with the first, but still pretty nice.
