Database in the cloud?

Some of my recent clients request remote connections to the office server, offline work, etc. in winForm applications.

Since the concept of the Internet is a remote connection to a server with both data and resources, it should be possible to place both of them in the cloud and connect winForm applications to it, as if web applications.

How anyone checked this works like this:

Is it fast enough?

Is he safe?

What is the best cloud host for this type of job?

Are these database engines also supported?

Xeround is also a cloud database. It is compatible with MySQL. I have used it before, but never for a winForm application.
