Configure Livepoint 2010 Testing

I currently have an instance of Sharpoint 2010 running on the server. I need to create a test environment to best reflect the live setting. Then we will deploy the changes for testing, and then live (as functions). What is the best way to try to synchronize live and test?

There is no support for synchronizing content between Live and Test environments.

One viable way is to back up your content databases and restore them in a test environment periodically .

Also, any settings, decisions and functions should be redistributed as part of each synchronization cycle.
