No, unicode only supports modifiers after the main character. From the definition of D52 in section 3.6, Combination of specification 6.0.0 :

  • The graphic positioning of the combining character depends on the last previous base character, provided that they are separated by a character that is neither unifying, nor zero-width or zero-width nonjoiner. A combining character is said to apply to this base character.
  • There can be no such basic character, for example, when the union character is at the beginning of the text or control or format character follows - for example, a carriage return, tab or right-left. In such cases, combining characters are called isolated combinations of characters.
