VHD Java Library

I am looking for a Java library that can open .vhd files. I want to create a program that can move inside it. I also want it to be cross-platform. I have been looking for a library for a library for a long time, but have not found anything. I found only the old unanswered question here on stack overflow . Can anybody help me?

Consider libguestfs . libguestfs is a C library, but has a Java binding .

claims to be cross-platform , working on Linux and Mac OS X, and "[s] ome virt tools have been ported to Windows." Check if features running on Windows are working.

libguestfs supports VHD images ( called libguestfs format ).

Getting libguestfs

Java com.redhat.et.libguestfs containing the com.redhat.et.libguestfs package are available as part of the source archive. This can be found on the libguestfs download page; select the latest version, 1.18.8 .

Alternatively, a precompiled JAR can be accessed from the Maven repository.

In any case, on Windows, you probably have to compile your own libguestfs library libguestfs .
