Is there an API in Windows 7 for creating “split menu items”?

I don’t know what their official name is, but I mean the following things:

Split menu item

Is there an official API to create in my own program?

And a related question: Have you ever seen these “split menu items” anywhere other than the start menu? Where? This may indicate an API.

Looking at my own launch menu, I assume that most of them are generated in the same way as before, "Recent Documents." that is, monitoring files opened by programs.

As for the new APIs, this page may be a good place to start sniffing: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee461765%28VS.85%29.aspx

To create tasks such as Internet Explorer, etc., use ICustomDestinationList → AddUserTasks (), the last items should be displayed for registered file types (they are added by the open / save dialog or manually by calling SHAddToRecentDocs ())
