Import local Apple Mail.app messages (.emlx) to mutt

I am a beginner newbie, but I constantly studied, very encouraged by its speed of searching and displaying messages. I use mutt to read email from two Gmail IMAP accounts, and I cache the headers on my drive in ~ / .mutt / cache / hcache and message bodies in ~ / .mutt / cache / body /.

I have several years of mail that I downloaded through Apple Mail.app, which are stored in ~ / Library / Mail / Mailboxes / .mbox / Messages / where is 2000 .. 2010. All these messages have the extension .emlx. How do I send these messages to my mutt store so that I can read and search them through mutt?

Inside mail.app, right-click the folder that you want to upload to Mutt, and select Archive Mailbox. The archive is stored in mbox format, which mutt opens just fine.

to open the .mbox file in mutt, use 'c' to change the folder and go to your .mbox file. From there, mark all messages and save the mark with ;; s. Go to your mutt store and save them there. Mutt will offer you to add messages to the store.
