Template Systems for Symfony 1.4

I recently started exploring symfony frameworks, and I wonder which one is best for the templating system?

Some suggest just using PHP, but I don't like it very much (by the way, see this interesting article ).

Before I started with symfony, I used - and loved - Smarty.

Are there any better options for symfony?

Try Twig (developed by Sensio / Fabien Potencier) ... there is for symfony 1.4 , and it will be a set of default templates in Symfony2
