Most of the information in Freebase is language independent, but if you want Italian language strings, you can get them by indicating that these are your queries (English by default if no language is specified). Here is an example app here
For things that are derived from Wikipedia, Wikipedia English forms the basis, so if something exists only on Italian Wikipedia, it will not be included. For the things in both, you can get links to both an English article and an Italian article (and you cannot get an Italian name directly from Wikipedia or look at it).
