What if I want to release an update with a higher minSDK than on the market?

I released an application on the market with minSDK installed on 4 (Android 1.6), but now I want to release an update with inaccessible features in 1.6, so I need a higher minSDK.

So my question is: Will users be notified of this update 1.6? ... and if so, will they be able to download / install it?

if you released the update, and the minimum sdk, say, android 2.0, I do not believe that your 1.6 users will receive information about the update and will not be able to install it, because you declare that it will not work on 1.6 devices.

They, on the other hand, will be able to save the version that they installed.
