Latex created PDF does not open at 100% zoom

I created a pdf file in latex. Everything is fine, except that I want the generated PDF file to open with a 100% default zoom level when opened in Adobe Reader. Currently it is displayed at 57%. I also noticed that other pdf instances created by my other latex code are displayed at zoom levels other than 100%.

Is this just a problem with the viewer or this deviation from 100% scaling should do something with the Latex code. I mean, if you change the page borders or something (or that the type of document is an article, not a book or something else); Does this affect default scaling?

I don’t remember the default LaTeX settings, but of course you can control the zoom level with the hyperref package if you haven’t already. Direct link to manual: here

\usepackage{hyperref} \hypersetup{pdfstartview={XYZ null null 1.00}}

Please note: I do not have Acrobat Reader installed on my computer, I am writing this, so feel free to report if something is wrong. Also, assuming compilation with pdflatex.

Start your code this way if you want to compile your text with either pdflatex or latex. Match your needs.

 \RequirePackage{ifpdf} \ifpdf \documentclass[pdftex,letterpaper,12pt]{article} \usepackage{lmodern} % \usepackage{textcomp} \else \documentclass[dvips,letterpaper,12pt]{article} % \usepackage[active]{srcltx} % for dvi viewers supporting source code mapping \fi

But you can set the default zoom size in the settings of your viewing options. Evince viewer allows you to customize the top bar buttons, add zoom buttons.

You should use the package \usepackage[pdflatex]{hyperref} , compile with pdflatex (or rubber -d ) and use the hyperlink setting that I added in the comment above.
