Creating shortcut buttons with Java, for example & (ampersand), using Windows Forms

I would like to better formulate this question. In part, I simply do not know the name of what I am looking for.

With Visual Studio and Windows forms, you can add an ampersand to create a shortcut key to a button by pressing Alt + [That Letter]. Like My &Button ... Alt + B will be a shortcut.

Is there an equivalent to this in Java SWING? I am using NetBeans IDE 6.9.1.

Thanks everyone!

You are using JMenutItem.setMnemonic() ; I do not think that there is a convenient bright label, for example an ampersand.
