Convert Powerpoint to Flash on Linux

I am looking to convert PPT and PPTX files to Flash (or flv) files automatically in Linux. So I need a command line utility.

Are there any options available to me? (I have not found yet).

I was also looking for a Flash player to play ppt / pptx files as an alternative (similar to what a slide show provides) - does anyone know other than openslide ?

Summary of responses: you should probably use OpenOffice for this.

To do this from the command line, it looks like you probably should use PyODConverter http://www.artofsolving.com/opensource/pyodconverter

OpenOffice generates a very bad version of SWF. It should generate a back / foward button at least.
