Can I download a standalone application to iphone?

I have an iphone and I created an application using Xcode. Now I want to transfer this application to my iphone for my use. How can I do that?

I tried to copy my application to the iphone application folder using the phone viewer software, but I cannot open the application on iphone. It shows an error

"Myapp.app cannot be opened"

Is there any other way to install my application on iphone? Please tell me about this.

thanks

You need to register as an iPhone developer in order to get the correct keys for signing and downloading the application on iPhone. If you are writing an application that you plan to sell through the AppStore, then it is $ 99 for registration, if it is for internal use only then $ 199.

Did you use a real SDK or simulator first?

The SDK simulator hides only some OS X calls that do not exist on the iPhone, but otherwise it is a regular OS X SDK. Therefore, first make sure that you are connecting to the iPhone SDK (ARM).

Then comes the licensing bit. Afaik on a non-jailbroken iPhone, you can only download signed applications (via the AppStore or using a license from Apple to sign your own).

Xcode will automatically install and run the application on your iphone if you use the correct project setup.

Project → Install Active SDK → iPhone 3.0 Device

Please note that you will need an initialization key before this becomes possible.

visit http://developer.apple.com/iphone to see some easy-to-understand tutorials on how to get one of them.

I assume that you have registered as an iPhone developer on this site (costs $ 99).
