Can I use Windows Update to update a program?

As we know, we can set the address so that Windows downloads its updates from a specific address.

I want to make update files and put them on this specific address on the server, and computers on the network download updates from this address and install updates.

The question is:

  • Can I manage the files and settings of other programs (with the exception of Microsoft applications) using Windows Update?
  • If so, how to make a Windows service pack?

No, you can’t. Windows Update and Microsoft Update are Microsoft-only mechanisms. It would be wise if they (and customers) opened them to other suppliers, but no one announced anything in this direction.

If you use a domain controller, you can distribute updates to your application using Group Policy. look here

Another option: write a client application to distribute updates to your applications.

And another option: Microsoft System Center $)
