Custom checkbox in checkboxPreference - summaryOn & summaryOf

Question

I would like to slightly change the checkboxPreference checkbox by default. I use answers from another similar question, but still there is one thing that does not work.

I have:

Unfortunately, this way my resumeOn and summaryOf do not work. Nothing happens, but a checkmark appears. When I use an image instead of a checkbox, it works fine - clicking the image causes the summary to change. Why does this not work with a checkbox? And what do I need to do to restore the default behavior?

You must add the lines:

 android:focusable="false" android:clickable="false" 

for the Checkbox element in the XML layout file.
