Multiple applications in one Tomcat versus multiple tomcat instances

We are currently running several applications in one Tomcat

I would prefer to run each application as one application with built-in Tomcat

Does anyone see a flaw in this?

I guess that my memory requirement for memory will decrease, so my overall memory consumption will basically remain the same.

Did I miss something?

I think you will need more memory in general, as each application will need space for respite. You will also probably need more maintenance, as the number of configuration files will increase.

At this cost, you will get more independence - for example, if one of the applications sucks all the CPU resources or even destroys the entire JVM, your other Tomcats will still work.
