To hide a menu item or toolbar button:
- Switch to the perspective you want to adjust.
- Choose Window> Customize Perspective.
- Click the Menu Visibility tab or Toolbar.
- Find the item you want to hide. You can do this in two ways:
- Expand the hierarchy of the menu or toolbar to find the item you want to hide.
- Select the "Filter by group" checkbox to view a list of command groups that provide items, and select the command group that you want to hide. Then navigate to the item in the hierarchy in the structure tree.
- Hover over an item for more information:
- description of what the item does
- name of the command group that contributes this element (click the link in this element to go to the "Availability of command groups" tab with the selected command group).
- Any key bindings associated with the command that the item is executing (click the link in that element to open the Keys page in the Preferences dialog box with the command selected).
- If the item is dynamic, preview its current view (dynamic items are listed as [Dynamic]).
- Uncheck the box next to the item. Uncheck the box to hide all its children.
- Click OK for the changes to take effect.
