Is Google Native Client supposed to have Mozilla and Microsoft support?

Personally, I believe that Google Native Client is an awesome technology, but has no future without the support of major browsers.

  • Is Native Client supposed to be standardized like HTML?
  • Will large organizations such as Microsoft and Mozilla (expected) be supported, or will Chrome only support it?
  • Is there any chance one day we could develop a cross browser without web application plugins with Native Client along with HTML5?

I think you will want to see the next page, which explains its own client

What you want to read are comments on this page.

The short answer is yes, the nacl team hopes to at least get Firefox support as a plugin, if not more ...

If the Native Client is successful, and I think it will happen on Android and os chrome tablets, then FireFox and Safari (iPad!) Are likely to implement it, and MS can eventually be forcibly added for IE.

Google opened the plug-in, so it should be portable for other browsers. It can be installed as a plugin for other browsers, just like a flash is installed.

So, YES, there is a very good chance!

The user client can be added to other browsers by downloading Google Chrome Frame.

The EXE installer is on the chromeframe and the MSI installer for enterprises (for Windows domains) is on the MSI Installer

I do not know if this answers your question, but there is Emscripten , which belongs to Alon Zakay, who works as an employee at Mozilla.

With Microsoft's new Metro style app model that fully supports the web interface and javascript, it will be interesting to see if there is anything like a Native Client.
