Google Google widget for quick search is missing in Android 2.2

Question

I could not find the google search widget on the home screen nor in the list of available widgets. If I click the menu from and if I click search, nothing happens.

I could not find the “Search” option on the settings page from where I could include my application in searchable items. we have enabled Global Search for our application and earlier, if used to display search results from my application, if I search here.

I tested this in a stimulator and I have not tested it on a device yet.

Is it removed in 2.2?

This was a bug in the Android SDK 2.2, which was later confirmed by a Google employee in a separate message.
