Sound Processing Libraries for Ruby?

Any recommendation on libraries for audio processing in Ruby. I need to perform the following two tasks:

• Find the silence for which I am happy to simply iterate over each sample in the wave.
• Cut and paste fragments of wav files to create a new wav file.
• Convert wav to mp3 and I will stay in it anyway.

I am looking for the equivalent of NAudio, the C # library.

One option is ruby-audio , which has a wrapper on top of the libsndfile file.

Personally, I was not lucky with manipulating audio in a pure ruby, but I used Java libraries from jruby to a good effect.
