Can I customize the Forward button of a browser from HTML?

Example. At the bottom of the StackOver Questions page are a bunch of page numbers (1,2,3 ...), enclosed in a set of previous and next buttons. Pressing the next time will lead me, say, to page 5, at what point I will have:

Obviously, if I click the "Back" button in the browser, Forward will display a value pointing to the URL of page 5, but not otherwise.

Is there a way, from HTML (plus Javascript), to set the value of the "Browser Redirect" button? Or is this one of those things that HTML is simply forbidden?

You may be looking for custom links , although I am not aware of any major browser that uses them.

It's impossible.

In addition, back and forth is information about where the user was, and not about a specific logical sequence of pages.
