How can I create an event created through the Google Calendar API, send an invitation letter?

Question

I try to create an event through the API and basically works, except that as long as new events are created in the invited calendars, no emails are sent.

Creating an event from the web interface is promoting the event, as well as sending email (except for one account that does not receive any notifications at all, but which is not related to my current problem).

The event I'm trying to click is:

And when I request event lists, I do not see much difference between events created through the API and through the web interface.

Edit: authentication was done through username / password, not AuthSub or OAuth, but I doubt it would be relevant

According to the Trevor post in this thread, I am after the (poorly documented) gCal:sendEventNotifications (which in my example is an <entry> node that will be expanded to include the gCal namespace, so the example will look like this:
