Does Microsoft support OpenID?

Does anyone know if Microsoft supports or plans to support OpenID?

I ask about this because I need to decide whether to use OpenID in my new product, and it is very important that my user can use Hotmail.

No, the Windows Live ID is not an OpenID provider and is not (most) the Microsoft sites referenced by OpenID supporters.

Microsoft is still exploring the adoption of OpenID. I expect them to become an OpenID provider in the end, but the date has not been announced as far as I know.
