Any foundation for administering the open source Android app?

Our open source application is quite popular and we are many developers.
The application uses my Android Market account, and I shared the keys with the developer.

But if both of us disappear, the Market application account will be lost, and all users will be trapped.
Providing keys to all developers is also not a solution for security reasons.

Is there a foundation (for example, in the Mozilla Foundation or Apache Foundation) that can take to hold our Android Market account and release new versions in accordance with its own recommendations and community consensus?

There are quite a few Open Source Fundamentals , but I could not find what solves this particular aspect of Android applications.

A simple dead man switch does this. Designate long-term / respected members of your community as successors in the worst case, arrange the keys that will be given to them.

You can also easily create your own fund, it should not be non-profit and does not have to pay for the work of any of its employees.

In my experience, umbrella organizations may not have enough resources to remain in harmony with the community to the extent that they need to act quickly if something happens. This is why SPI has very little involvement in the organizations it serves, with the exception of acting as a proxy server.

You'd better just coordinate the wills with another developer or set up something small that is an integral part of your community.

If you're really big enough that this is a problem (and I suspect you are in the US), you may find that Software Freedom Conservancy from the Software Freedom Law Center can help ...
