Capture and convert webcams to avi

I'm trying to make a program that captures video from a webcam and sound from a microphone, but it gets stuck in the part where I try to make a movie from still images

ive heard that you need to use directshow, but it does not work for me.

Does anyone know a good code example that captures video and sound and can encode it into a file (divx or something like that)?

or some suggestions where to look so that I can create it myself.

(If another programming language is better for this, I am happy to know it early.)

I believe AForge.net has built-in utilities for creating videos. It can use DirectShow in the background. But I used it to capture the video stream, and I'm 90% sure that it can be used to encode the video!

Find your binaries / source in:

Have a look at DirectShow.NET ( Article ), which has many samples, such as capturing and encoding a TV.
