New POST Scheme for SOLR

Is there a way to POSTing a new schema for Solr (for example, is there a handler for managing schema updates) instead of manually placing the new schema.xml in the Solr home directory?

Unfortunately, this is an open question at the time of this writing, and does not seem to be of great interest for its implementation.

As indicated in the comments, you can work around this by establishing some kind of external connection, such as WebDAV, FTP, SFTP, SCP.
