Unexpected demolition folders appeared after update

I have been using Subversion for about 2 years to manage a large C # project. In a recent Subversion update, several new folders were added to the source folder:

\ conf
\ Db
\ locks
\ hooks

In addition, 35+ files were added during the update, all of them appeared in 4 new folders.

I have not changed any client (I use TortoiseSVN) or the server software related to Subversion, so I am puzzled why these folders and files were suddenly entered. It also seems strange that the files, which seem to be related to the internal workings of Subversion, are now part of my source code repository.

Can someone shed some light on why this happened?

Thanks in advance,
Mark

The folders you specify (conf, db, locks, hooks) are folders from the repository directory that lives on the SVN server. Most likely, someone accidentally right-clicked and did "TortoiseSVN-> Create Repository Here". Must be able to determine who did this by checking the SVN log.

Check the project history to make sure that someone else has not accidentally added the contents of the actual repository directory to the repository itself. The only thing I can think about is that it can happen - it can hardly be a failure in Subversion itself.
