How to geolocate on custom iphone and android maps

My client would like me to implement geolocation in a mobile application. He wants me to use a map that is pretty distorted (definitely not like google) map. Is it easy to convert GPS coordinates to coordinates on this deformed map?

I get the coordinates (X0, Y0) from GPS → I need the location on my client map (X1, Y1)

You need to know the mapping from the client map to the coordinates of the real world. Either ask your client, or perhaps you can overlay it on a google map of the same area in Photoshop and find out how much you need to stretch in each dimension, this can lead you to close enough if the distortion is linear.
