Beginning of dev on iPhone: iPad - a learning path?

I am starting to play iPhone / iPad and I am looking for a way to customize my learning path. The main functions that I would like to learn (after basic programming of the SDK components for iphone):

  • using a panel like an interface where I can move the pawn with my fingers.
  • determine where the pawn was moved and trigger events in the game
  • The fee will be 6 tiles, which can be arranged randomly at the start of the game. Can I use the sdk component with a delegate and data source to determine where the pawn was left and on which plate?
  • need to use cubes (which library can i use?)
  • ...

Do you have an idea where to start ?; -)

Thanks a lot, Chib.

Jens Alfke provided GeekGameBoard to create platforms and card games for Mac or iPhone. He talks about it here . I highly recommend this as a starting point for an inexperienced developer who wants to create a board game.

In addition, you can see the answers to a similar question, "Board Game for iPhone: OpenGL ES or CoreGraphics?" . As I recommend, read on Core Animation (which GeekGameBoard uses for layout and animation) to provide your layered graphics and animation, rather than jumping directly into the more complex OpenGL ES.
