FireBug - checking element problem - displaying another interface?

When I used the Firebugs feature check feature, it displayed results similar to the ones below. Good nested tags on the left ... css style on the right. alt text

Recently, however, when I try to validate elements, it always shows this: alt text

I tried to revert to older versions of FireBug (I can’t remember if it started after the update?). I thought about the settings ... I can not find why this is different. The interface that it shows now is completely useless for figuring out what is happening in html / css.

If you have the pingfire extension (Firefox) (for ping.fm) installed, try uninstalling it (feedback from ALex).

Gosh, damn it, I pulled my hair at it, so thanks for the help!

I did not have the pingfire extension installed (Ping.fm), but I had some other lame extensions (facebook downloader). Removing all the extensions that I did not use solved this problem for me.

Try clicking the HTML tab on the Firebug screen (Console HTML CSS Script DOM Net) ... you are now in the DOM view.

The tab you are on is the DOM, which displays the variables created by javascript and more. You can go to the HTML tab to see HTML and CSS.

I did it!

I had this problem just a few minutes ago ... what it is ... okay ... maybe it's easier to show. Tell firebug to boot in a new window and it should go. If not, then read on and I will try to describe what is happening.

Do you see how the right kind had two panels? To the right is "quickview". What happened is that the panel somehow stretches all the way. If you hover over the left side of the panel, you can drag the panel back to the right. The separator between the panels is almost invisible when you drag it far in both directions, so you just need to make sure that you do not.

However, this is a great joke for other developers who don't notice this ... mwahahahaha.
