Visual Studio 2010 Data Sources

Starting Visual Studio 2010 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel with the previous version and the remote beta.

My problem is, I can’t show the Data Sources panel. This is not in the View menu in my case.

Would thank for any ideas

Data sources will only be visible if you are in the right place in VS.NET, especially in user interface design mode. Then - the menu is displayed in the "Data / Data Sources" section

Are you looking for Server Explorer? View> Server Browser.

It contains your data connections.

Or a keyboard shortcut:

I had the same problem. But sorted now. You need to go to “View” in “Other Windows” and then “Data Sources”. or press shift + alt + D

Based on How to open the Data Sources window .

From the Data menu, select Show Data Sources.

You come across this when trying to follow the canonical process of creating a Linq to DB installation. The solution is the end result: RMB for models in Solution Explorer, select "Add New Item", and on the next screen select "LINQ to SQL classes". This calls the version of the database connection constructor, which will create the corresponding Linq classes.
