Silverlight / Moonlight on Android devices

I just got my first Android device, I like it ... I also like that you can create your own applications and distribute them as you wish.

I read a little about Monodroid, and also, apparently, Microsoft wants to put Silverlight on these devices, although there is not too much information about them ... but what about Moonlight?

If Monodroid is like Mono ... why do we need it? wouldn't it be better to have moonlight instead? Therefore, we could create rich applications for Android devices. In Silverlight 4, if you install the application locally as full trust, it will not depend on cross-domain policies, and you can connect where you want ...

What do you think?

MonoDroid IS Mono, not Microsoft. I think it is very unlikely that Microsoft will ever announce anything for Android, as they work on Windows Phone 7.

The Novell team is really working on MonoDroid, which is announced to be released in the fall of 2010, if I'm not mistaken. They are also working on the Moonlight port, which is likely to be released later.

MonoDroid will allow you to develop Android applications using C # instead of Android java. While the language is different, MonoDroid will still allow you to directly evolve against the user interface available on Android, so applications will look native.

This is the incomplete work of the Mono team.

You can see the preview here:

I assume that it will be included in the next version of Monodroid.
