Is there a more modern regexp handler for Open Object Rexx?

The regex class (rxregexp.dll) that ships with ooRexx (I'm on 4.0.0) is relatively small compared to functions, say, with the Python re module (even in 2.5.2).

It seems that it has no statements, no means for group extraction or for substitution. Greedy or lazy matching is a global template option, and not marked with an additional "?". Basically, the regex engine is pre-PCRE.

Does anyone know if anything is available with a more modern feature?
