Where can I find Microsoft Sql Profiler 2005?

Is there a way to get a profiler without installing Microsoft Sql Server?

If the answer is no, in which edition do I need to get a profiler? Do I need a developer version?

Yes, you will need at least a Developer Edition (Express Edition does not include a profiler).

However, you do not need to install the database server itself in order to use the profiler. You will want to find something like "Client tools" in the installer.

Depending on your needs, you could use a third-party profiler, for example, the open-source SQL Server Express Profiler from AnjLab.
