User reporting for end users using ASP.NET

Is there a third-party tool or something similar that will allow users to create reports on their own without any programming?

One code base, but custom reports for each user in the created system.

Make sense?

I took advice from jaxidian and did an adp ad hoc asp.net ad search and found this product that looks really beautiful and more or less exactly what I was looking for.

i-net Clear Reports (used for i-net Crystal-Clear) has a very nice ad-hoc ad . There is also a live demo on the website where you can see what to expect. You can use it with ASP.NET, PHP and other technologies.

You can look at two reporting giants, namely Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting Services . Both can be used from ASP.NET, although the latter obviously rely on the fact that you have data on SQL Server (although Express is supported).

MS Access, connected to a replicated / read-only version of the database, can offer a really powerful tool at a fairly low price and without locking production tables.

ActiveReports comes with a report designer that connects to Visual Studio. You can connect to data sources and design your reports without running any programs as such, but you need VS.

They also send a component that you can include in your Windows Forms project, which provides a full-featured report designer as a stand-alone executable. Having taken this approach with our products, I must warn that this component is not too flexible and has many features. In the end, we were happy with the executable file that we were able to build and ship with our product, and our end users look quite happy when building their reports with it.

(We run all the reports they create through ASP.Net and display the output on web pages.)

I use LogiXML in my project, I think it suits your needs.
