Good interface for PostgreSQL for Windows or Mac

I am considering using postgreSQL 8.4x db for windows / Mac for development and for Linux. I wonder what interface tools are there that are comparable to Toad (for Oracle)?

PostgreSQL comes with PgAdminIII. This is normal, but I feel that there might be something better than this. I prefer free or open source, but if something is NOT too expensive (we DO NOT PROFIT), do not mind evaluating.

minimal tools i want
1) connection manager
2) Good SQL editor
3) Explain the plan
4) help with the implementation of SQL in various languages.
5) ER circuits would be good, but that would not be a killer function for me.
6) keyboard shortcuts
7) support for utf-8 (display at least).

Does anything work for you guys?

Will use java 6 to build the application, if at all relevant.

Try RazorSQL . It is not free ~ 70 dollars. But, to be honest, comparing $ 1000 TOAD, if I remember correctly that pgadmin is free, I think you need to face the fact that you are using a free database that gives you functionality that costs thousands of dollars in other database systems $ 70 dollars are cheap.

Aqua Data Studio is good. But most of the time I use pgAdmin3.

Actually this is a topic that annoys me for many years ... It is a pity that TOAD is available for so many databases, but not for Postgres ... The only thing I have found over the years: " EMS Postgresql Manager

In any case, my version crashes from time to time, and there is no "shortcut" function key defined for "query execution", which made me angry from time to time (I could not find a way to determine it) ^^
