Import a library in Eclipse

I want to use Lucene in my project. When I just copy the .jar file to my project, I get the error message "Note: this element did not connect the source and did not add Javadoc, and therefore, Javadoc was not found." How to import a library like Lucene into Eclipse?

You imported it correctly. You can use all classes from the can if you are so far away. You cannot display all the useful hints from javadoc while editing, and you cannot go to the library code.

You can add the source and javadoc later in your project creation path settings.

  • Right click on your project and select "Properties"
  • Choose a Java build path.
  • Now select Libraries (you should see a list of banners)
  • Click on the library arrow to expand its settings (you should see something like JavaDoc none and the original application none)
  • Now, if you want to add a source, click on the original attachment none item and select edit.
  • Now put the path information in the folder or jar containing the source, and click OK.
  • Do the same for java document
