How to increase the length of comments in mysql?

Question

It seems that the maximum length of table comments in mysql is only 60 characters.

I am developing aplicacion in php symfony which automatically generates sql ddl sentences, and in many cases these comments are far from 60 characters.

Is there any way to increase this limit?

As I know, this cannot be done using standard mysql tools.
