IIS Smooth Streaming in a WPF Application

How can I play IIS Smooth Streaming in a WPF application. I know that Silverlight has built-in support, but I can not find much information for WPF. Will the MediaElement control support this in WPF 4?

If something has changed recently, the only available Windows Smooth Streaming client is Silverlight. There is no support for Smooth Streaming in Windows Media Player or for other stand-alone Windows applications.
