Fastest key-value pair database?

I am looking for the fastest free key-value pair database. The database does not have to be server, it can be associated with the application. I know the Tokyo office . Any other suggestions?

I do not know about the fastest, but you can look at this question: Databases / keystores for use with .NET projects .

The reality is that you probably need to clearly define the base performance and profile different databases to determine which one will have acceptable performance for your specific application.
