Is there any XSL-FO rendering that supports <fo: table table-layout = "auto">?

I use Pandoc to convert Markdown to Docbook, making stuff for it, and then turning Docbook to XSL-FO using Apache FOP . Unfortunately, Pandoc creates tables with table-layout = "auto", and FOP only supports table-layout = "fixed".

Is there any XSL-FO rendering that supports table-layout = "auto"?

Most commercial renderings. Try Ecrion if you need speed.

With FOP, you get functions that someone has decided that they want them to be bad enough to implement. I would say that no one who takes publication seriously takes it into production. You are much better off with RenderX or Antenna House or Arbortext . (I have used them over the past decades of implementation projects.) It depends on your business requirements, how much you want to automate, and what your skills, time and resources of your team are. This is not just a technical issue.
