I am developing a game for my forum. Not very confident in my strategy

I have a small community of members inside the forum. For fun, I plan to introduce a small game based on reputation. The idea is to send updates to user (X) about another user (Y) depending on how much X occupies Y. This is just a fun game, but the way I thought about implementing it was one of the following ways: / p>

Set X to rank two users. The fact that he takes higher gets more points. Ask X to order a set of users. After that, the order determines how many points each user receives.

I am a pure programmer and not sure if the above methods will be interesting for my users. Does anyone suggest a better approach (which is also easy to implement at the same time ... hard too). In fact, I'm looking for principles that will help me develop a game that will get more appeal ... Any suggestions?

This is not like a game. It's just a reputation system that, without any further context, is essentially just about to take a snapshot of its popularity. I don’t think anyone will find him interesting, and in the worst case, he will divide people.

Your question assumes that you are hoping to implement the game to draw attention to your site, while your comment under the question implies that the reputation system is better known to users who other users deserve attention or not. The first is more for entertainment and is not taken seriously to the point that people are unhappy with the loss, while the latter works better than it is taken more seriously. In my opinion, these two goals are antagonists to each other, and it will be better for you to serve, completely sharing ideas.

EDIT based on comments:

Sounds like you need a trust network. Basically, a graph of nodes (i.e., People), each with weights, based on both the value assigned to the adjacent node and the actual weight of that node. Some further reading around the question:

I hope some of them help clarify your thoughts.
