Android Email Notification

Question

Is there any way for the application to receive a notification when a new message is received? My goal is to raise a warning (play sound, vibrate, whatever) if the received email with a specific subject is received (think of it as a “filter” or “rule”), but I don’t want to check the email server myself. I think I'm looking for something like "android.telephony.PhoneStateListener", but for email.

Sorry, there is no general concept of a “new letter”. Gmail has its own email database and management, the email application has a different one, and other email applications may have their own.

And, of course, there is no "mail server" associated with the telephony subsystem.
