Disable eclipse confirmation movement

One of the most annoying things about the new version of eclipse is that it makes moving files quite complicated.

By default, on the left side of the screen you will see the file system explorer (where your projects in the workspace are listed). I used to be able to drag folders / files, but now every time I do this, a window appears and asks me to select the destination folder. This is a problem, because I already dropped the file to where I need it (often to several levels), and you have to redraw the pop-up window to the same folder, it’s a pain.

Can I turn off the Move Resources confirmation window?

I did not reproduce the problem with either:

  • Package Explorer
  • Project Explorer

with a fresh install of Eclipse:

Is any plugin installed? Are you reproducing a problem with a clean installation?
Can you move files of any type (e.g. .txt instead of .java ) without a confirmation message?
Are your files read-only ? (which may trigger confirmation, as shown below)

Note: regarding PDT2.1 (and even the upcoming PDT 2.2 in July next year), dragging or moving resources still has a lot of bugs , including bug 256278 , which concerns an odd message when dragging:

I confirm that this is due to PDT (this will not happen with JDT)

org.eclipse.ltk.internal.ui.refactoring.RefactoringWizardDialog2 is called here. Every time you drag & drop. And there seems to be no preference to cancel this behavior.
