Does anyone know a browser extension (preferably Firefox) that allows you to create independent cookie stores with finer (and more customizable) granularity than the spec?
eg. let's say http://a.example.com/ sends first
Set-Cookie: a=bar; expires=Fri, 31-Dec-2010 23:59:59 GMT; path=/; domain=.example.com
It is so clear that this will also be sent by Firefox for something that was subsequently requested at http://b.example.com/ . I want the extension not to send a header for b.example.com. Typically, this will cause b.example.com to send another set-cookie header, which will then only be called for b.example.com. The idea is to create several independent sessions on the same site.
This would be an added bonus if it supported other drill-down schemes (for example, http://example.com/a/ is separate from http://example.com/b/ ).
This seems a bit like Application Boundaries Enforcer , but it differs and is not within its scope (although I may be wrong).
Finally, I know that this can give you enough rope to hang yourself.
