Why should you ask? You can send .Net 2.0 with your application, which will add 20 MB to the installer. If the client evaluates your program, then they should have no problem launching your installer and installing .Net 2.0.
I only have a client out of thousands of clients who refuse to install .Net 2.0 on their network, because the client network has software that is somehow incompatible with .Net 2.0, and obviously the client rates the software more than is our. As a result, we will return our code back to .Net 1.1, and the client has no problems with the loss of functions.
