Is C # a Microsoft product?

I confirm my dissertation, and I wonder how I should describe the language that I used

  • Microsoft C-Sharp (C #)
  • C-Sharp (C #)
  • FROM#
  • C # and Microsoft.NET Framework

Combinations or something else?

C # is an ECMA standard. The standard was introduced by Hewlett-Packard, Intel and Microsoft, and it was developed by Microsoft. The standard never uses the term "Microsoft C #". Therefore, I would call it initially β€œMicrosoft's C # programming language,” and subsequently I would only call it β€œC #” or β€œC # programming language,” as the standard does ( ECMA-334 pdf ).

" Microsoft Visual C # " if you are talking about their compiler / implementation, otherwise just "C #" in my opinion (feel free to get qualified with a "programming language" if you want). The version number is definitely useful. Remember that this is a published standard , and they are not the only implementation (although they came up with).

I would go with the "Microsoft C # programming language and Microsoft.NET Framework version 3.5 SP1."

What about the "implementation of the Microsoft C # language on the Microsoft .NET Framework"?
