Is jquery really worth trying with the asp.net web form?

Hi guys
I use javascript to get my validations, effects, etc. Now I decided to use jquery in one of my web applications

• jquery worth a try with asp.net web app

• Will an ajax update panel be a problem for me when using jquery?

I learned that the event is ready will not be fired for the asynchronous postback called by the UpdatePanel control ...
